Angelica + Derek | Edmonton Portraits

Angelica contacted me in December because she wanted to give a couples session to her boyfriend Derek for Christmas.  We tentatively booked a date in January, hoping the weather would be warm enough to be able to shoot.  Well, the stars and heavens aligned that day in January as it was a balmy 1 degree and so beautifully sunny!

We started our session at McKay Avenue School, which is an old school turned museum.  Really cool architecture there and lots of photo ops! We wandered around the neighborhood and found a few other cool spots as well.  Realistically though, the backdrop didn’t really matter because these two were so into each other, they are truly in love and that’s a very important factor in having a magical session.

Couples are so much fun to shoot and blogging these photos is my way of putting more love out there into the world.  Call me kooky, but I love love. It’s magical, beautiful and so much fun.

It just wouldn’t be ‘me’ to not blog any sunny photos!

Ya dancing in the street!

Kristy | Camrose Olympic Torch Relay

My friend Kristy had the absolute honor of carrying the torch and being part of the Olympic relay team for the Obesity Network. As a team they ran the torch for one kilometer through Camrose, Alberta.  Unfortunately I couldn’t make it around the crowd to capture her carrying the torch but I managed to get some great shots of her. She looked so proud, and I am so proud of her!

Above – Kristy looking cute before the big event.

Below – The big torch.

Aaron Pritchett came to rock out!

Up on stage to light the torch and start the relay!

There they go!

Go Kristy!

Casting Call! | Vancouver and Vancouver Island

I am looking for some volunteers to do a concept shoot in coastal BC – Vancouver and Vancouver Island.  I’ve been living in the prairies too long and am dying to shoot near the ocean!

I need a woman with her own wedding dress  (that still fits!) that is willing to put it on again, get her hair and makeup done and have the opportunity to create some amazing images with me.  If you have a willing groom, awesome! Maybe you have a dress but no groom – who cares, let’s get your money’s worth out of that beautiful wedding dress sitting in your closet.

If you’re not afraid to get your dress dirty, and want another excuse to wear it again, keep reading.

We won’t be ‘trashing’ anything but due to the locations where we will be shooting the dress may get slightly dirty, sandy, and possibly a little wet but nothing major.  You will be asked to sit, lay down, and other various poses in your dress, so make sure you can do those things while wearing it – I know how tight they can be!

I will have a hair stylist and makeup artist to prepare you for the shoot at my cost.  You will be volunteering your time and lovely face so that I may use your images in my portfolio and advertising.  In exchange you will receive a DVD with edited images from our shoot, with printing rights.

If you’re interested, please send me an email with some information about you, and at least 2 photos of yourself – one where I can clearly see your face and another in your wedding dress.

Please send your submissions to admin@jenwilliamsphoto.com

If you know anyone who may be interested in this opportunity, please spread the word!

Some news!

Over the holidays Chad and I were able to spend some much needed time together and we discussed our  goals for 2010.  The main goal we are working toward is moving – Chad and I will be relocating to Vancouver in late 2010, after we finish our weddings for the year.

We are very excited about moving because we have been talking about it FOREVER and now we’re finally taking the steps to do it. Even Jinx is excited! Well, maybe not, but he will be!

That being said – if you are a Vancouver bride, I would love to talk to you about your wedding.  I am planning several trips to the city to meet with clients and shoot this year, with the first trip being January 27-Feb 1.  If you would like to meet to discuss your wedding, just send me an email and we can make a date for coffee!

Edmonton brides – I am still booking Edmonton weddings, so if you’d like more information on pricing and packages, just shoot me an email and we’ll talk!

And because this is a photography website, here are a couple photos I took while playing around over the holidays. Heart shaped bokeh is so cute!

This is Janessa and Daryn, we’re shooting their wedding next August.  Janessa changed her wedding date so she could book me, how cool is that?! I am beyond flattered!!

And one of my love.
